1. What conditions arise from exposure to asbestos?
The main asbestos related illnesses which may lead to claims for compensation are pleural thickening, asbestosis, lung cancer and mesothelioma.
2. Can I make a claim if I’ve been diagnosed with an asbestos related disease?
You may be able to claim if you have been diagnosed with an asbestos related disease of pleural thickening, lung cancer or mesothelioma. There are time limits for bringing these claims and you should seek legal advice immediately if a diagnosis of these conditions is given.
3. Can I claim government benefits if I make a claim?
Depending on the asbestos condition you have contracted, it may be possible to claim benefits. State benefits can be claimed for “prescribed” diseases and a lump sum payment may be obtained from the government for some types of asbestos related conditions.
4. How will my case be funded?
We offer a conditional fee agreement in which we only get paid if your claim is successful. If so, we will recover the majority of our costs from the other side. You will not contribute to our costs and will keep 100% of your damages award. If you lose we will not be paid.
We will arrange an insurance policy on your behalf to cover any other cost liabilities. You will not pay anything if you lose.
5. What is my claim worth?
This depends on your condition and the facts of your case. If your claim is successful, you will receive damages for pain, suffering and loss of amenity.
You will also receive out of pocket expenses including travel, loss of earnings capacity, care and loss of pension amongst other items.
